We have worked with Blackvue Dashcams and fantastic Perth media agency Social Meteor for a number of years, producing content for the various dashcam models being released each season.

Blackvue is one of the most prolific and innovative dashcam companies in the world and their product offering is second to none. Social Meteor developed the initial creative strategy and then engaged Birdhouse to produce the actual content – planning, filming, and editing.

Our Task

You may notice that our very own Birdhouse co-founder Hans is the guy on screen speaking to you. That’s because initially Blackvue wanted him to be the face of their explainer video content, and realised that the whole process would be even better if the Birdhouse crew also produced it. Hans is a long-time professional TV presenter though so it did actually make sense.

We took Social Meteor’s creative brief and scripts and developed a filming plan to capture it all. We booked a stunning Air BnB home as our primary location so we could film several different scenarios in the same place. Our crew handled everything from on-set lighting, to professional sound recording, teleprompter setup, and continuity.

We also used the actual dashcams themselves as a means of capturing footage. Having real-life dashcam footage woven into the flow of the scripted narrative gives the edit a seamless feel and showcases the quality of the product.

The Result

The final suite of content is extensive and covers all of the various aspects of the Blackvue Dashcam range. We ended up producing over 20 pieces of content, primarily for use on social media and as explainer videos for new product purchasers (educating them on how to set up their dashcam).

Working with both the Blackvue brand and the Social Meteor team is always a pleasure and the shoots go smoothly. As of 2026 we have completed 4 separate shoots with them and continue to enjoy the process.
