When it comes to food and drink, if you’re not on the WA Good Food Guide then you’re clearly not the best of the best. The WAGFG celebrates the top level venues, chefs, bartenders, and suppliers in Western Australia. Western Australian newspaper food critic Rob Broadfield is at the helm and he loves our local cuisine scene.
Each year the WAGFG has an awards night to recognise the very pinnacle of this elite group. Birdhouse Media films the event every year.
This is an event showcase video plain and simple. Crown Ballroom was the venue and the event was full to bursting with Perth’s best cuisine professionals. The task was to capture the event, paying close attention to the many sponsors involved.
There are always several different parts to the evening with a pre-awards drink, awards, and then the after party, which can get fairly loose.
To make sure we filmed everything that needed covering we had multiple cameras roaming the event. A hand-held 85mm lens was used for the close ups and a 25mm lens on a Ronin gimbal was used for the sweeping wide shots. We also recorded audio directly from the mixing desk so that the microphones were clear.
The edit is reflective of the atmosphere of the night – fun, irreverent, and colourful.
It’s another great event video for the West Australian Good Food Guide Awards. Video content like this is very important for the WAGFG because they operate online and are always encouraging new venues and professionals to be a part of their collective.
This video was rolled out on the WAGFG social channels and on their website. It’s also used as a promo video for media releases etc..
