Ronald McDonald House Charities - Up All Night 2026
About
Ronald McDonald House Charities WA are an incredible provider of housing and medical care to sick and injured children. We produced this video for their annual Up All Night event, an overnight endurance challenge where participants walk through the night to raise funds for the charity. The event symbolises the long, sleepless nights that many parents experience while caring for a sick child in hospital.
Our Task
We were to produce a short 60 second social media video that captured all of the energy, passion, and enthusiasm of the participants and volunteers.
This project comes with a catch however… we also have to stay up all night to film it. Not to worry though – caffeine is our best friend!
We walked alongside these energised participants to capture all the smiles and passion.
The Result
We’re incredibly pleased with the end result. Being produced through careful planning, filming, and editing to effectively showcase the Up All Night event and its purpose. We’ve filmed this particular event before, but a lot of the pre production was identifying key moments to capture during the event – focussing on participants, volunteers, sponsors, and the atmosphere throughout the night.
We used a combination of handheld and stabilised camera shots to create engaging visuals. Interviews and candid footage were recorded to highlight personal experiences and the importance of such an amazing event.
The post production is really where the magic happens. It’s where planning pays off, and where we get to flex our creative muscles to hone in on an emotional story, promote future participation, celebrate the community’s efforts, and communicate the charity’s mission in a compelling and accessible way.
